Thai Eggplants

Thai Eggplants

Thai Eggplants for sale at Aaw Taw Gaw market in Bangkok. These eggplants are bitter, and usually eaten with Green Curry. I'm not the biggest fan. In Thai they're called 'Ma-Kheua' (มะเขือ).

Susan – These are the golf-ball sized ones. The little pea-sized ones are called ‘Ma-Kheua Pooang’ (มะเขือพวง). These are less bitter than the little pea-sized ones. They both live happily together in a bowl of green curry.
